History

MaPicDB began around 2024 as an idea of Rails to create a website of screenshots of FPS videogame maps, primarily to serve as thumbnails for the Igloo Cafe/Arena Igloo Cafe's gameservers web pages at the time, inspired by GameTracker's map images system. In November 2024, MaPicDB would finally launch as a website powered by the Coppermine Photo Gallery software.
